Make a Microloan for 9-yr old McKinley's Health!

This loan is delinquent.

First Posted On: June 24, 2009

Name: McKinley

Age: 9 years old

Location: Michigan, USA

Diagnosis: Asperger Syndrome

Loan Sought: $480

Loan Needed For: Initial visit with DAN! [Defeat Autism Now!] doctor($280) and first tests recommended by doctor ($200)

Repayment Terms: 9 months ($53.33/month).

Other Notes: McKinley's mom, Kira, writes: "McKinley is a lively young man who is nine years old and loves to take things apart. He enjoys trains, cars, and anything that involves transportation. While he may lack somewhat in gross/fine motor skills and social savvy, he more than makes up for it with his 136 IQ. He was the first third grader in the district to get a perfect score on his Michigan Math MEAP.

McKinley will introduce himself as having "AS" and sometime, "ADHD." In fact, McK was diagnosed at age four with having ADHD comorbid with Asperger's Syndrome. He has been on numerous medications, tried various therapies, and is still receiving a bevvy of services to accommodate him and make life more manageable.

Our family is ready to move forward, and to begin biomedical treatments in an effort to not just live with the effects of Autism, but to push forward to finding or working towards a cure. We feel that the biomedical approach has shown some clinical validity and we need your help to have our first visit and initial testing paid for, as it is not at all covered under insurance.

Please open your heart and be generous, even five dollars towards this loan could be the difference in cracking the puzzle of McKinley's Autism.

You have our sincerest thanks."
