Make a Microloan for 2-yr old Sawyrr's Health!

This loan has been repaid in full!

First posted: July 31, 2008

Name: Sawyrr Leonard

Age: 2 years old

Diagnosis: Autism

Loan Sought: $549

Loan Needed For: Fees for First DAN! Doctor Visit (Dr. Demio) in September.

Repayment Terms: One lump sum in March 2009.

Other Notes: "Sawyrr is the youngest of four kids. The only son out of the four. I cried the day he was born. He was so beautiful. They laid him on my chest and he instantly looked up at me with his beautiful eyes. A lot has changed since that day. In a one word, "Autism." Sawyrr is now 2. Although we have managed a few more "eye contacts," Sawyrr is often times still in his own little world. We have him on the GFCF diet and started some supplements on our own. He is still completely non-verbal. The thoughts of hearing him say "I love you Mom" burn my eyes with sadness. I have faith, though, and with that faith we are taking Sawyrr and his ADHD sister to Dr. Demio in September. We are struggling like everyone else I am sure. But coming up with monies for both kids is seeming all too impossible. Until this site. Thank you all who have loaned and all of you who will loan in the future. May God Bless you!"

August 18, 2008: Note from Sawyrr's mom, Tami: "We are so moved and SO grateful. I can't believe how generous and kind everyone has been. We are just starting our journey and we find ourselves wanting to help others eventually like everyone has helped us. Thank YOU everyone who funded our loan. We couldn't have done this without you!!! We will keep all of you updated!!!"

August 18, 2008: Promissory note sent to Tami for signature.

August 19, 2008: Signed promissory note sent back from Tami.

August 19, 2008: Loan for $549 sent to Tami.

September 12, 2002: Note from Sawyrr's mom, Tami: "I just wanted to give everyone a Sawyrr update. We had a first DAN! appt. on Sept. 9th. We went over some labs we had run prior and WOW! He has the cholesterol of a 45 year old man. Not a very fit man mind you! He was missing some major good Flora. High levels of the bad guys. Throwing out too much zinc. High with most bad metals. White blood cell count higher than what it should be. Basically his little body is a MESS!! We must do an OAT test and a bunch more blood work. We were put on Folinic Acid and b-12 shots, nystain, enzymes, and probiotics. He had his first b-12 shot in the Dr. Office and the next day we noticed he started clicking his tongue and responding more promptly to his name. More aware. This is a child who doesn't talk at all. Doesn't point and who has been bringing us things when he wants them. This is HUGE for us!! No words yet but he has only had one injection and we are just starting out so we are very hopeful!! Thanks for all who loaned us the money for this appt. It was so worth it. Thanks again!! We will keep you updated as more things develop!!!

February 24, 2009: Update from Tami: "Hi all! Sorry it has been a long time since I posted a update.....My apologies!! Well With Sawyrr we have experienced some bumps in the road to recovery. We have had a great experience with b-12 injections. We still experience all kinds of rashes and bumps. At one point he developed hives. Boy are our kids sick!! We are currently starting neubulized Glutanthione. We will start amino acids and Enhansa soon if all goes well. Boy does this stuff add up!!!! Sawyrr still has no words but I feel in my heart we will soon!!! God is SO GOOD!! I must say even when things look bleak he finds a way to surprise me. Thank you for all the benefits that came from all of your loans!!! You are GOOD!!! Thank you and may god bless each and everyone of you!!"

March 19, 2009: The lump-sum repayment of $549 has been received on-time. (Today was the due date.) This family is considered to be in good standing on Lend4Health and is eligible to request another loan in the future, if they would like to!

The following comment was included with the loan from Mike & Michele:

"Please pass along to this mother that my son, age 10 now, looked so much like her son in the photos! He is now almost recovered w/ DAN treatments and I want her to be encouraged!"

Hi Tori:

I learned about your idea here from Jeanne's blog (CharlieinWonderland.com). I think this is such neat idea!!! And I am sure you'll be able to make it a success. While most of us are financially strapped, obviously some of us so much more so than others. So I think finding sufficient people to put in a few dollars here and there should not be too much of a hardship.

I am going to link to this blog from mine. Can't guarantee that your traffic will go up much, but it may help get the word out there.

And to all parents that are posting here for loan requests to get started on biomed treatments: Go for it and do not look back. It's not an easy route to take, but the payoffs, once you find that combo of treatments that your child needs, are HUGE.
