Name: Aydan B.
Age: 5 years old
Location: California, USA
Diagnosis: Autism
Loan Sought: $905
Loan Needed For: Attendance at the AutismONE/Generation Rescue conference, "Autism Redefined," in Chicago from May 24 - May 30, 2010. (Flight: $346.00, and hotel: $559.00)
Repayment Terms: 36 monthly repayments ($25.13/month)
Other Notes: Aydan's mom, April writes, "Aydan is a 5 year old with autism. He is pre-verbal, has many sensory difficulties including constant self-stimulatory behavior and motor planning issues. He is sweet, adorable, smart and an all around love bug. He was first diagnosed at age 2 1/2 years and at the time was considered to be mild-moderate. Unfortunately his progress has had many ups and downs and he is now considered to be in the moderate-severe range. Nevertheless, we remain extremely hopeful and have seen great improvements since making changes into alternative therapies such as RDI, Miller Method and Bio-medical treatments. Aydan recently became potty trained which was a major milestone and a huge celebration for our family. We are very excited to finally be seeing some progress and look forward for it to continue. We still believe that Aydan will recover given the right opportunities.
At this time I am seeking a loan to attend the Autism One Conference. In California our funding for treatments and parent training has been cut by millions of dollars. I would like to attend Autism One to further my education and learn about cutting edge treatments that may be beneficial to my son as well as the autism community. I am very active in TACA, Generation Rescue and several other autism groups so not only would my education benefit my son but I would be able to share my information.
Aydan is beloved by many family members and friends. We all recognize this warm light of love that he holds and those of us lucky enough to share it feel truly blessed.
As for me I feel that I have been selected to be the mother of this boy for a reason and I know that I will never give up advocating for our children."

June 11, 2010: Update from April: "Hey there L4H family! I'm just giving a quick update on what we've been able to implement since my wonderful experience at Autism One. The first thing we did was start removing environmental toxins and going completely organic. After hearing David Kirby, Anju Usman and many many others I can take a hint. The other has been the implementation of Quigong Sensory Training. This was one of the highlights for me as it was a real training session that taught us how to actually do this treatment at home. It's very simple and only takes about 15 minutes a day. I've been doing it on Aydan at night and he's been calmer, sleeping better and has had fewer night accidents. I could see after the first massage when this very hyper kid lied in bed still without moving for an hour before falling asleep that QST was going to be a keeper."
