Make a Microloan for 6-yr old Jaden C.'s Health!

This loan has been repaid!

First Posted: March 17, 2010

Name: Jaden C.

Age: 6 years old

Location: Florida, USA

Diagnosis: Autism

Loan Sought: $2,720

Loan Needed For: 40 "dives" in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber at her doctor's office

Repayment Terms: 24 months ($113.33/month)

Other Notes: Jaden's mom Bonnie writes, "Jaden is a delightful, fun, mysterious girl who was diagnosed with severe autism at 26 months. She has made much progress with biomedical treatment in the past four years. She talks, sings, learns and loves people. She loves to have people over to our house and help me set up the table! She recently began homeschooling, and it is a joy to learn along with her. She can be taken everywhere now -- library, church, stores, field trips, rides in the car, overnight trips, which she loves! Her gut is nearly healed. Her vitamin deficiencies are almost gone. She struggles still with OCD- [obsessive compulsive disorder] type behaviors (pacing, picking lips and skin), some sensory issues and mild anxiety. HBOT [hyperbaric oxygen therapy] is one of the therapies we have been unable to do and I am praying that it will be one of the answers to Jaden's breakthrough. Thank you for considering having a part in that! God bless you today and always!"

Special Notes: Bonnie is a long-time Lend4Health lender & supporter.

Make a Microloan for 3-yr old Lil' Joe's Health!

This loan is being repaid.

"I added an old picture of Lil' Joe to show the improvements with his eyes and personality. When he was a baby he always had that glazed over look in his eyes...he no longer has that...and HBOT [hyperbaric oxygen therapy] has made a tremendous difference." -- Lil' Joe's mom, Heidi

First Posted On: July 22, 2009

Name: Lil' Joe

Age: 3 1/2 years old

Location: California, USA

Diagnosis: Autism

Loan Sought: $2,500

Loan Needed For: 20 HBOT [hyperbaric oxygen therapy] dives

Repayment Terms: 18 months ($138.89/month).

Other Notes: Lil' Joe's mom, Heidi, writes: "Joe is awesome! He wants to recover...you can tell by how hard he works at all his therapies and at home...all we need to do is provide him with the tools for recovery and we will get there, together.

As soon as we found out about Joe, we immediately got him all the services he was eligible for and then some. Not too long after his diagnosis of autism and epilepsy we started biomedical protocol and a day has not gone by without it and I would like for it to stay that way as he is recovering in front of my eyes.

I need this loan because our health care system in not geared to cover services that are biomedical in nature. And most importantly because we found out while he was young and we started biomedical while he was young, he is recovering and I am afraid that if we stop now, so will his progress.

Lil Joe deserves a fighting chance as do all children who do not have a voice. I am his voice, and I know by looking in his eyes that he wants recovery."

Special Notes: Heidi is a full-time student, and her husband is in the Navy. Lil' Joe's DAN! [Defeat Autism Now!] doctor is Dr. Dan Rossignol.

Make a Microloan for 5-yr old Ish's Health!

This loan is being repaid!

First Posted: January 28, 2010

Name: Ish

Age: 5 years old

Location: California, USA

Diagnosis: Autism

Loan Sought: $2,000 [Reduced from 4,200 on March 1, 2010]

Loan Needed For: Down payment on a used hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) chamber.

Repayment Terms: 24 months ($83.33/month)

Other Notes: Ish's mom, Naima, writes, "Ish is an awesome little 5 year old. He's the youngest of my 4 children. His sense of humor shines through, penetrating the walls around him called Autism. He's in constant pain and still constantly wears a beautiful smile. His brave little heart is infectious and it keeps me fighting for his health even when the well's run dry.

Since Ish's diagnosis our family has suffered tremendously. My ex husband and I separated shortly after his diagnosis, 3 years ago. Since then this road to recovery has been quite rocky. We lost our home, I lost my business, and our older children lost out on a lot too. Autism rips everyone apart one by one beginning with the host, then spreading to his loved ones. Everyone's affected.

In August we traveled to St. Petersburg, Florida. Mark Fowler, chairman of Hyperbaric Center for Children granted Ish 30 hours of Oxygen. While in treatment, Ish spoke his first words ever. Sadly after exhausting all financial resources we returned to California. My little bit of work (as a hairstylist) is our only means of income. Not being able to work for 4 weeks caught up to us.

Oxygen therapy was the most encouraging part of our journey so far. Ish began playing with unfamiliar children for the first time ever, he spent many nights in my bed, eyes to eyes trying to communicate with me. He showed empathy to a stranger's baby that was crying (wanting to sing to it and kiss it). I got a glimpse at life without Autism.

He spoke his very first sentence in his life "Go downstairs, go downstairs now." He and I spent 10 minutes afterwards just laughing with excitement. That's when I realized he is as much, if not more, frustrated about not being able to express himself.

We've maintained the DAN [Defeat Autism Now] protocol by the grace of God (seriously). We're currently on Chelation (DMPS and EDTA suppositories). Within 4 months it will be time to finish his unfinished hyperbaric treatment. This time the full prescribed hours are NEEDED. I KNOW he will recover with Oxygen Therapy. This time we just need to bring the Chamber to us.

Ish is my Hero!
ADDED MARCH 1, 2010: Ish is desperately needing his Oxygen treatment, we've stopped all chelation due to imbalances and slight regression. $2,000 will ensure the delivery of the chamber to our home. I'm soooo very thankful for all of you. You encourage me to continue fighting for my son. Your notes/messages are read over and over, each time with tears of inspiration in my eyes.

Love and Faith, Naima"

I've been battling many wars (school district, home living situation) lately and trying really hard not to interrupt the consistency of Ish's Recovery Treatment. Ish has come so far since the last time I updated you. He's completed 20hrs [of hyperbaric oxygen therapy], half way to the 1st dose of hours prescribed. He loves school and is in love with his teacher Ms. J. and new teacher's aid Ms. M. He gives them both kisses and says "bye bye see you tomorrow." 5 words!!!! Ish counts to 20, says his ABC's. He was only at 1 word, possibly 2 before HBOT. He is now trying new textures of food, he's not bothered by smells anymore. No longer covers his ears when I turn the vacuum on. He smiles and makes eye contact 100 times more!! Anxiety is down and curiosity is up! He is becoming dangerously excited about new things, people and places. He's no longer predictable (I really have to watch him at all times). He's oozing with a creative itching to explore life, with his eyes wide open spirit! I'm loving this miracle in the making! Make a Microloan for Jordan and Logan's Health!

This loan has been repaid in full!

Photo: Jordan is in green, Logan is in blue

First Posted: March 2, 2010

Name: Jordan and Logan

Age: 5 years old (twins)

Location: Arizona, USA

Diagnosis: Autism

Loan Sought: $370

Loan Needed For: Supplements: Klaire chewable digestive enzymes, L-Acetyl carnitine, Q10, Klaire probiotic complete, Nordic Naturals cod liver oil, Natural calm, Floravital iron supplement, Vitamin D, and Methyl B-12 shots. This will last us about 2 months.

Repayment Terms: 18 months ($20.56/month)

Other Notes: Jordan and Logan's mom, Karen, writes, "Jordan and Logan are 5 year old twins and are both diagnosed with autism. They both love to play outside, do active things with the family, they love school. Jordan loves music and Logan loves math and science. Jordan was diagnosed with autism when he was 3. He has made improvements but he is still very much impacted by his autism. He struggles to communicate verbally with us but he is the hardest worker we know! He is smart, fun loving and the sweetest, cuddliest boy there is! Logan was diagnosed at 5. He is verbal, quirky, smart and just trying to function to the best of his ability in this world that is a little strange to him. He also works so hard to be the best he can be!

We have been doing biomedical treatments even before we knew it was called biomedical! It started when they were less than a year old having severe reactions to food. No doctor could get us an answer, even after GI scopes etc. We found our wonderful naturopath who started treating them with natural therapies and within 3 months they were eating food instead of being on their formula. They still struggled but were beginning to get somewhat better. Jordan has since been diagnosed with Eosinophilic colitis and Logan still suffers from constipation and yeast overgrowth. We are pursuing this treatment because it is helping my boys.

We unfortunately have hit some very hard times. I have been staying home to take care of my boys and Logan and Jordan have a 3 year old brother. I get them to all their therapies and doctor appointments. My husband was in the real estate industry and when the economy turned we really started struggling. I am working some hours as a respite worker to earn some extra money when I can. My husband pursued a job selling commercial insurance. My husband's job is commission only and takes a while to build up a client base so his company offered him a small base salary that he was supposed to have until March 2010. It wasn't much and didn't pay for all our bills but we kept moving along doing as much as we could. We have had to cut back on DAN! dr appts, testing etc and put Jordan and Logan down to the minimum amount of supplements possible. Well, my husband's employer gave him the bad news that effective immediately, they were taking away his base salary. My husband is working hard but hasn't built up enough clients to earn commission so they basically just took away all of our income. We live a very meager lifestyle, we don't splurge, go on vacations, have cable TV or expensive cars etc. We don't mind cutting back everywhere we can including dr appts. But there are some supplements that my boys need just to function and to keep from getting more ill.

Any loan that could be given to us to keep my boys from having to stop their much needed supplements would be greatly appreciated!"

Make a Microloan for 5-yr old Zachary's Health!

This loan has been repaid in full!

First Posted On: September 28, 2009

Name: Zachary

Age: 5 years old

Location: Michigan, USA

Diagnosis: PDD-NOS

Loan Sought: $779

Loan Needed For: Tests from Great Plains (heavy metal $135, organic acid test w/yeast $340, amino acids $219, and glutathione $85).
On 10/8/09 this loan request was reduced from $997 to $827 because the family found a compounding pharmacy where they can get B-12 injections covered by insurance, and because the family received a donation of cod liver oil from Nordic Naturals. On 2/2/10 this loan request was reduced from $827 to $779 because an online friend is paying for Zach's probiotics. These were items that were previously part of the loan request.

Repayment Terms: 12 months ($64.92/month).

Other Notes: Zachary's mom, Jackie, writes: "Zachary is 5 years old. He was diagnosed with PDD-NOS and DBD-NOS at age 3. He is currently GFCFEF [gluten-free, casein-free, egg-free], and is supposed to be on Calcium, CoEnzyme, Probiotics, B12, Glutathione, Multi's, digestive enzymes, and fish oil. We saw incredible changes over the past year of being treated biomedically. As of 3 months ago when he was receiving everything he was supposed to, he was 70% recovered. Unfortunately, he has regressed since coming off the supplements (mostly the B12 and Glutathione).

We need this loan because without it we are unable to get him what he needs. We have other children (all with special needs), and unfortunately many of their medical expenses/doctor appts/testing is not covered by insurance.

Zachary is an incredible boy. He is extremely smart and friendly and is loved by many. He has been through a rough time, as he's been sick since birth. He suffers from many things that go along with Autism (Candida, Acid Reflux, allergies, asthma, eczema, possible Celiac (awaiting scheduled surgery), weakened immune system, etc. and has spent most of his life in doctors offices/hospitals. He is a very sweet boy who just wants to be happy and play, and is an incredible athlete."
