This loan is past due.
First Posted On: November 6, 2009
Name: Olivia
Age: 4 years old
Location: Florida, USA
Diagnosis: Autism
Loan Sought: $498
Loan Needed For: Blood test (performed by Olivia's doctor) to see if she has the XMRV retrovirus. (The full amount of the test is $650, so this loan will cover part of it.)
Note: On December 14, 2009, Olivia's mom wrote to request that we end the loan request. The family went ahead with the blood test and has decided to use the loan collected to date ($92) for Olivia's supplements.
Repayment Terms: One lump-sum repayment due by March 31, 2010.
Other Notes: Olivia's mom, Angie, writes, "Olivia's doctor is going to do a blood test to see if she has the retro virus XMRV. This is extremely cutting edge new stuff but it is a virus that they believe is linked to autism. She will be one of the first few children to get tested for this. If it comes back positive we will have to go from there and it is pretty much uncharted water, but we are really excited that this might be the beginning of a cure or resolution to autism. That is one of the hardest things about autism, no answers for what caused it."
Special Note: This is the family's second Lend4Health loan request. The first loan was repaid on-time. To read about the first loan for Olivia, please click HERE.
