Name: Lucas
Age: 4 years old
Location: Nevada, USA
Diagnosis: Autism
Loan Sought: $1,068
Loan Needed For: $500.00 for Initial appointment with DAN! doctor (Geoffrey P. Radoff, M.D., M.D.H); $323.00 for organic acid (urine) test; and $245.00 for stool test.
Repayment Terms: 18 months ($59.33/month).
Other Notes: This loan was requested by Lucas' grandma, Sharie, because Lucas' mom, Amber, doesn't have a computer. Sharie writes, "Lucas is the little man of the house. He is the first male to be born in our family in 47 years. He has 3 sisters; 2 older and 1 younger. He was diagnosed with autism a year ago and he is our Pride and Joy. We have recently found out that his Dr was wrong about him not being able to ever recover, and we are excited to get him to a DAN! [Defeat Autism Now!] Dr that offers hope. We are trying to start him on a GFCF [gluten-free casein-free] diet since we have been finding out wonderful things about children with autism who are on this diet. He loves to go to Grandpa's and throw anything he can get his hands on into the horse’s water troughs. Grandpa gives him his own water bucket to throw things in but we are constantly removing items from the horse’s water troughs anyway. Lucas’s Grandpa loves to take him to lots of sporting events and can't wait for the day he can watch his grandson play sports. Lucas's Mother works very hard to support all four of her children and gets alot of help from her oldest daughter Leann who is 12 years old and is amazing with her precious little brother. I am Lucas’s grandma and want to give him the best chance for recovery I can. I came across this website a few days after finding out from my daughter she got a hold of a DAN Dr but she couldn’t make an appointment because of how much money it cost. It breaks my heart to think he can’t get the help he needs now because of our lack of money. I have tried to sell my beloved horses for quite a few months; unfortunately at this time that is nearly impossible. Not to mention how much all four of our grandkids enjoy ridding them around the yard. I have prayed for some help with getting enough money to get this beautiful angel of ours on the right track and I believe this wonderful website is the answer to my prayers. I want to offer our eternal thanks to all of you kind and unselfish souls, who take the time to read these and make it possible for these very special children to have a batter chance at recovery. Sincerely, Lucas’s Mommy, Grandma, and one of the few words he says, "Poppa"
Special Note: Because this family lives in a small town in Nevada, Sharie plans to tell the local newspaper about Lucas being on Lend4Health. She is hopeful that the town can rally around Lucas and chip in the loans he needs.

We were able to see Lucas' new DAN doctor in August and get all of his tests. He has been on the GFCF [gluten-free casein-free] diet and receiving methyl B12 shots since. I have noticed mild to moderate improvements with his speech, moderate to slightly significant improvement in his behavior, and best of all, he is going #2 in the toilet, all by himself!! I really wasn't sure if that day would come. I want to again thank you and everyone involved in Lend4Health. No word back on his tests yet, but he will be seeing the DAN doctor again soon. Sincerely, Amber"
